In today’s world of Information Technology progress could take place in two forms: Vertically intensive & Horizontally extensive Progress. Then could took further through globalization, which means that the people from all over the world are using it. Horizontally extensive progress is easy to imagine or the things which are already existing in the market. For example if you have one typewriter and you built 100 more then its called horizontally extensive progress. Vertically intensive progress is difficult to imaging as it needs you to do something that nobody had done. for example if you have one typewriter and you made a word processor, it is called vertically intensive progress. But to be really successful you need to make vertically intensive progress. There is no point of making horizontally extensive progress as this would no be so successful or fruitful. It just would not be so profitable if you’re making things which are already there in the market. For example china have been copying US for the past 20 years like the rail roads, air-conditioning or even the cities. Once, you have made a vertically intensive progress now it’s the time to globalize the tech you’ve created. Because the technology and globalization are the two modes of progress it’s possible to have either or neither both at the same time. The age of globalization has made it easier to imagine the technological growth in the next decades.
